Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery that changes the size of your breasts

Breast augmentation is a cosmetic surgery that changes the size and shape of your breasts. It can help correct sagging or drooping breasts, enhance or increase the size of large breasts, and improve asymmetry.

It can also give you a more feminine figure, and it can make you feel more confident about your body. However, it is important to keep your expectations realistic.

Your surgeon will examine you to see if you are a good candidate for Breast augmentation, and to determine your goals. They will also assess your physical health and body type to ensure that the procedure is safe for you.

The doctor can insert the implant through a cut under your arm, under your chest or around your nipples, depending on what you want to change and how much enlargement is necessary. You’ll likely be given anesthesia, so you’ll feel “asleep” during the procedure.

In some cases, your surgeon may use an endoscope to insert the implant. This technique has a smaller scar than other methods, and it doesn’t require an incision. It’s safer for breastfeeding and causes less discomfort around the nipple, but you may not be as comfortable or able to exercise as well with this method.

Your doctor can place the implants under your breast tissue, in front of your muscle or behind your pectoral muscle (pectoralis major). The placement is a decision you’ll have to make with your surgeon together. The two most common methods are submuscular and dual plane.

Submuscular: This technique places the implant “below” the breast tissue, producing the most natural-looking results. It can move with muscle contraction, but this is not as natural-looking as dual plane.

Dual Plane: This technique combines the benefits of both submuscular and dual plane methods, creating an optimal relationship between the implant and the breast tissue. This technique reduces the risk of malposition of the implant, which can cause problems later on, and it can be more accurate.

The surgery is done in an outpatient facility, and you should be able to go home the same day. You will need to follow your doctor’s instructions for recovery, and it will take about a week before you can start wearing regular clothing.

During your recovery, you’ll need to wear a compression garment for support and to help with swelling and bruising. You’ll also need to avoid heavy lifting or activities that could raise your blood pressure.

Your surgeon will probably give you a prescription for pain medication to take during your recovery. You can usually return to work within a few weeks, but it’s a good idea to avoid strenuous physical activity.

Swelling and bruising are normal after the surgery. It will be more noticeable in the first few days, but it’ll gradually subside over the next few weeks. You’ll need to wear a compressive bra or a sports bra to help with the swelling and bruising.

It’s a good idea to have a friend or family member stay with you during your recovery. This will prevent you from having to do too much alone.
